Reading Buddies is not a tutoring service. This summer we're offering drop-in sessions instead of our usual one-on-one sessions. Come in for reading practice as often as you'd like.
You will need a Douglas County Libraries library card. Get a card if you don’t already have one.
Each Little Buddy who drops in will get to read and play literacy-based games with a trained Big Buddy, either one-on-one or in a small group.
Big Buddies
Be a Teen Reading Buddy! Teen Big Buddies are trained and paired with a child (grades 1-3) to help them become a stronger reader.
Buddies meet weekly for four weeks on a drop-in basis.
For each 90-minute session, you will be available to read and play literacy games with Little Buddies as they drop in, either one-on-one or in a small group in ways that encourage a love of reading.
Volunteer spots are limited and your participation in the program is not guaranteed until your application has been received and approved.
